New York City’s permitting office approved an application for a “Special Event at MSG” earlier this week. The permit also allows extensive preparations around the venue.
Festivities started on Thursday, July 2, with a private rehearsal dinner. Around 100 close friends and family members attended the event. The gathering lasted from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm.
Social media speculation also increased after Selena Gomez shared a brief update. Many fans believed it hinted at her arrival for the celebrations.
Security operation expands across central Manhattan
Workers began preparing the venue early in the morning. They continued setting up until 2 pm on Friday.
City permits show crews installed large temporary structures. These include a drive through tent and a separate guest entrance. The layout aims to improve guest movement and security.
Guests are expected to arrive between 3 pm and 5 pm. Police officers will manage traffic, protect attendees and control crowds gathering outside the venue.
