The base model of the iPhone 17 emerged as the world’s best-selling smartphone in the first quarter of 2026, outperforming both rivals and Apple’s own premium devices, according to new industry data. Research firm Counterpoint Research said the standard iPhone 17 captured 6% of global smartphone sales during the quarter.
