In a surprising turn of events just days before the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 auction, Afghanistan’s explosive wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz has withdrawn from the tournament, citing personal commitments and a focus on his welfare work in Afghanistan. The announcement came via a video message uploaded by Gurbaz on his official Instagram account, leaving fans and franchises alike stunned.
Gurbaz, 24, had been confirmed as a direct signing by Peshawar Zalmi on February 5, expected to form a key part of the franchise’s top-order lineup for the 11th edition of the PSL. His sudden decision to step away from the league was revealed just two days later, forcing Zalmi to rethink their plans ahead of the player auction scheduled for February 11, 2026.
